lol this is a simple physics problem and f=kx for a spring you can't use kinetic force on a spring

on second thought, lemme solve it. btw demonic, there's no such thing as kinetic force. That's what we call impulse =P

U(0)=3*5*g
U(spring)=(1/2)*k*x^2=U(0)
part B
of course it'll go back up. As a matter of fact, it will go all the way back to its initial position as long as energy is conserved in the problem.

ha, if there is an elephant in the way then you have to perform collision analysis =P in which case the mass bounces back with equal velocity and thus my analysis is equivalent.
