[glow=red,2,300][/glow]The Legend of Primal Scream
When the Deva and Asura were sent to aid the fruition of the Gaia civilization, the god of Underworld, Kal'Tukphen, grew jealous of the efforts put forth by the gods and desired to create his own race to aid the humans as well. However, Kal'Tukphen's energies could do little to assist the human race, for his powers were violent and destructive. All the gods scoffed at Kal'Tukphen's foolishness, the Asura and Deva represented light and darkness, which were meant to keep equilibrium in the development of the Gaia, the introduction of a race by Kal'Tukphen's powers would only bring forth chaos. Ashamed and embarassed by his kin, Kal'Tukphen became depressed and retreated into the Underworld, where only the spirits of the lost dead appreciated his lonesome existence.
Isolating himself in the void, Kal'Tukphen took pleasure in secretly creating his own race; channeling his powers as one with the wails and screams of the souls in his kingdom, he manufactured armies of demonic creatures. Numerous and intelligent, Kal'Tukphen's bloodthirsty minions eventually ventured forth into outer world of Rappelz and began to unleash their chaotic nature, straying further away from the control of their creator as they depart from the void.
Kal'Tukphen's demonic creatures began to spread most numerously in areas surrounding Katan, bringing diseases which decayed forests, flames which consumed crops, and the deliberate slaughter of Gaia, Deva, and Asura alike. Horrified by the sight and actions of these surreal and violent abominations spawned by Kal'Tukphen's apocalyptic powers, the Gaia left to the safer part of the continent around Horizen, while the Deva retreated to the skies in Laksy - only the Asura stayed to practice their dark arts on these formidable demonic and undead enemies.
Amused by the independant actions of his own race, Kal'Tukphen did not want the other gods to find out that he was responsible for the unleashing of his creations or interfere with the progress; thus, he stayed hidden in the void of the Underworld where he longed to regain control of the Demons. Setting to work, Kal'Tukphen began to concentrate his powers into his most loyal spirits to send his will to the Demons, these spirits are known now as ghosts - the messengers from the abyss. However, to avoid detection from the celestial gods, Kal'Tukphen only released his spirits from the void only once a year - on the last day of October, at nightfall on the eastern part of the continent.
The most powerful ghosts developed self-awareness and began to partially materialize, once again revisiting their worlds in a physical body. One such ghost was Primal Scream, who is the vengeful spirit of a fallen Asura Dark Magician whose powers were renewed through Kal'Tukphen's will. Unlike other ghosts, Primal Scream is capable of being linked to the Underworld indefinitely; because of this unique power, Primal Scream can send souls directly to the void of his master.
Cunning, shrouded in his own mysterious hatred, and burning with dark energies of Kal'Tukphen, Primal Scream now wanders the depths of the second Valmore Mine, where he commands the demonic imps and undead. On the last day of October, he scours the mines for adventurers whose souls have fallen and sends them into the Underworld, where their spirits are transformed into lesser ghosts, mindlessly obeying the will of Kal'Tukphen.

In search of Primal Scream, Sian Skopos treaded the desolate plains outside the second Valmore Mine for miles, today was October the 31st - nearing his 45th Winter, and exactly the date of the witch's tale where the spirits are most active, and indeed they are. Skopos had sensed numerous ghosts stalking him for miles, glancing carefully into the night, his sharp eyes could make out their forms, no longer human- distorted by many centuries of being bodiless, they resemble nothing more than shapes with obscure faces. Sian wanted to speak to the ghosts, learn about them, and especially acquire the knowledge of the Void's elemental power, Kahuna training only taught of Light, Shade, Fire, Earth, Wind, and Water elements as the only forms of magic - ridiculous. He must break free of these traditional rituals and discover the mysteries of other forms of magic.
He descends down a vast spiral pathway to see the glowing portal at the mouth of the mine's entrance. Skopos had lost track of how long he had been walking, and the sight of the entryway filled him with brief sense of triumph. Many adventurers venture into the mines these days, but never deep enough before they were slain by the demons within, Skopos felt that he alone will venture into the deepest parts for the first time to find what lurked in the shadows before anyone else could. His legs felt glued to the ground, his body grew weary of the journey and the desire to rest drew closer to Sian, if he didn't find shelter within those mines he might die out here in the cold of Halloween night.
At last, Skopos arrives at the portal and enters into the swirling twilight to a deceptively peaceful dark cave chamber of the mines. For an abandoned mine it was fairly well illuminated, although he could not tell exactly where the light source came from. However, it was not long into the darkness until he does; Sian silently bows to greet the two adventurers: a cleric from the Deva, Illune, and a strider from the Asura, Shams, neither mentioned their last names. Illune's staff provides what little illumination they have in the cave's darkness, the gleaming blue crystal which it harbors used the element of light to mend wounds as well. They both explain that they also were curious of the validity of the witch's words, and are searching for traces of Primal Scream as well.
Together, they wandered deep into the mines for many hours.
Shams was the most cynical. "This Primal Scream creature may be real, it's unlikely that he would be linked to some nonsense god from the 'Underworld' though. What I'm really interested in is that Void element."
Fool! Has he not listened to the histories? What of the origins of the spirits lurking in the winds outside? Kal'Tukphen must exist whatever name he may have! "An ignorant type of assumption from an equally ignorant man, if elements represent the energies of Gods, then searching for the Void meant to be searching for the very existence of the god who commands its energies!" Skopos snapped.
Shams had no immediate retort; it was true, the elements are associated with different gods in the historical texts. He gave Sian a disgusted look, embarassed that his claim was put down so easily.
Illune, usually silent during such trivial arguments, decided to interject, "Please, concentrate on the task at hand, we may debate when we're free from danger of being heard by the dead and the undying in here."
Illune's unusual remark triggered awareness into both Skopos and Shams, they were far deep into the mines now, sounds could be heard. Ripping, shredding, haunting howls which creeped from the depths of the caves- these must be the noises of the monstrosities within. Little was known about the activities of the monsters in these caves, reports of cave-ins and the excessive piles of rock hinted towards the rumor that the monsters may be mining deeper into the earth where the former workers left off, but nothing quite explained why there were demonic Bullocks roaming the plains outside the mines.
The map for the interior pathways to the mines were inadequate; passageways not indicated on the map were present, and their party was quick to become lost. A flapping of wings and chattering could be heard approaching from the distance, and a group of winged imps emerge from the shadows. Startled, Sham's natural reflexes were the first to react as he quickly unsheaths his twin daggers, silver blades glisten, poised to strike the first to approach them. Sian and Illune fall back behind Shams, they were greatly outnumbered by these veteran creatures which giggled at Sham's bravery.
Unexpectantly, these creatures behave more like children, beckoning the startled party to follow them deeper through the cave tunnels. With no real choice, Sian's party complied.
A giant pigman warrior lumbered its way towards their group from the distance, Skopos does not let his gaze off the massive spiked mace and shield it carried, the pigman's towering body and bulky muscles did not begin to match the sheer malice glowing within its beaming scarlet pupils. The imps darted back to their business in the shadows.
The pigman warrior greets the party in a deep, rumbling voice which seems to shake the walls of the chamber they were in. "We have been observing you since your arrival into these parts, I am Burzom."
Sian spoke, "Me and my comrades wish to educate ourselves about the element of the Void, we seek the legendary Primal Scream."
A hideous smile forms about Burzom's distorted lips, chuckling, he was amused by the Kahuna's bluntness. "You shall meet him soon. Primal Scream's scouts observe all beings before they even enter our abode, there is not a warrior of ours in here that does not know of your group's presence, you've made it this far only because Primal Scream wishes it." A long fart ensued from Burzom's large hide. He snorted in laughter.
I require your bodies to complete my own.
Primal Scream's figure fades into view, his enormous cloth-like body was perhaps four-folds of Burzom's size - his eyes burning with a greater scarlet intensity. The ghastly voices of the abyss seem to emanate from the mysterious violet hexagram behind him, surrounded by magical symbols which seemed to be made of pure energy - it was likely the gateway to the underworld. Skopos could not move, pressure forced his face to the ground, Primal Scream's aura seemed to exert it on his body, he looked to see his Illune and Shams in the same state.
Primal Scream continues to speak into their thoughts.
Since my creation, I have hibernated in this sanctuary of darkness in hopes that I may find a solution to my limited form. My powers could not harm the flesh of your bodies, but my underlings were capable of such physical deeds - and I have been recruiting the deceased of these mines into the Abyss ever since, slain by the devils in my command. My awareness grew as the Underworld filled with souls, and I was soon able to remember my past in absolute detail; however, I did not regain my 'morals'.
Countless centuries have I been sealed in this partially spectral vessel which one may call a body, I will allow all you three to know your purpose here tonight: your blood will provide to me the living force I require to create a proper body in which to escape the shackles of my master. To free my soul, I must reproduce a new body which is a perfect replica to my former one, only then may my soul be attracted to this freshly functional body, enough to allow me escape Kal'Tukphen's clutches. I will retain knowledge, immortality, and sanity.
The vampiric ghost inches forward slowly, Sian's fate is all too foreboding. Illune whimpered, and Shams clawed the gravel beneath his palms.
A heartbeat later, a single sweeping noise broke the silence, and the Underworld grew.
